Si todo el mundo consumiera de la misma manera que lo hacemos los ciudadanos de los países industrializados, se necesitarían tres planetas Tierra.

Ser críticos con nuestro consumo, informarnos acerca de las condiciones en las que ha sido elaborado un producto; reducir, reutilizar y reciclar, así como practicar un consumo respetuoso con el medio ambiente, con las personas y las culturas, son las obligaciones del consumidor.

El comercio justo humaniza las relaciones comerciales; así, los consumidores toman conciencia de la cultura, identidad, y condiciones de vida de los productores del Sur, y contribuyen decisivamente a que los beneficios repercutan en ellos y no vayan a manos de intermediarios.

No debemos olvidar que la energía que menos contamina es la que no se consume.
